Bodmin based furniture and appliance reuse centre: RE:SOURCE, is celebrating after it’s Deputy Manager, Sally Eke, won a coveted award last week...
The awards from Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP) recognise the outstanding achievements of the graduates it has placed in various Cornish companies.
Sally started on a graduate scheme with RE:SOURCE in October 2008 and as well as completing her project has now been promoted to the Deputy Manager role.
Sally won the Contribution to Environmental Sustainability demonstrating that Sally adopted and promoted the environmental ethos that is central to RE:SOURCE and its services.
UCP said that Sally’s strong and robust operational systems and procedures that focussed on reducing energy consumption and improving customer service were key in her winning this award.
Jon Rolls, chief Executive said" We are delighted that Sally has received the recognition that she deserves. Managing RE:SOURCE is a challenging but rewarding role and one that Sally has excelled at. We are particularly pleased to see that Sally’s efforts to help the environment and consider sustainability have been highlighted as these are central themes to our organisation.”
Sally assists with the day to day management of the busy centre which sells reused furniture and appliances and provides work experience and training placements for members of the local community.
Sally Eke said" I am extremely thankful to both UCP and RE:SOURCE for helping me turn a new job into a new career. It was fantastic to receive recognition for all of my hard work and I look forward to continuing to help RE:SOURCE develop and grow."
